Montclair STAR Program

Welcome to the MontclairSTAR Program

Welcome to the MontclairSTAR (Sexual Trauma and Addiction Recovery) Program. We hope you will take the time to read about us and the work we do. We provide a comprehensive program for treating people with compulsive sexual behaviors, co-sex addiction, and multi-addictions. You will learn:

  • How to recognize the signs of sexual addiction and learn effective treatment methods to end the cycle of addiction.

The STAR program is a specialized treatment approach based on the most current information compiled by leaders in the fields of sexual addiction, sexual compulsivity, multiple addictions, childhood trauma and healthy sexuality.

We offer individual therapy, a multi-level group approach, couples therapy, all with 12-step involvement in a safe, supportive environment.

If you think SEX ADDICTION is a myth…

…Just look at the headlines. Clinton, Spitzer, Tiger Woods, and now Weiner have all inflicted tremendous damage on their personal and professional lives through a pattern of out-of-control sexual behavior.

The common thread:

·      An inability to stop the self-destructive behavior despite the potential for severe adverse consequences

·      Major negative impact on their professional positions

·      For most, a devastating loss of their loved ones’ trust.

These are some of the major indicators of Sex Addiction. which doesn’t just strike public figures. It can tear apart the lives of people from all walks of life.

Sex Addiction is real. But can anything be done about it?

The good news is that this addiction is treatable.

The MontclairSTAR program offers treatment in three phases:

Psychoeducational – We help the client fully understand the basics of the addiction.

Behavioral – We provide the tools of recovery to help control impulses and avoid relapses.

Psychological – We explore family-of-origin issues that have led to the acting out.

We also offer help for the partners of those dealing with addiction issues.
