Welcome to the MontclairSTAR (Sexual Trauma and Addiction Recovery) Program. We hope you will take the time to read about us and the work we do. We provide a comprehensive program for treating people with compulsive sexual behaviors, co-sex addiction, and multi-addictions. You will learn: - How to recognize the signs of sexual addiction and learn effective treatment methods to end the cycle of addiction.
The STAR program is a specialized treatment approach based on the most current information compiled by leaders in the fields of sexual addiction, sexual compulsivity, multiple addictions, childhood trauma and healthy sexuality.
We offer individual therapy, a multi-level group approach, couples therapy, all with 12-step involvement in a safe, supportive environment.
MontclairSTAR Male Survivors Group
At least a third of sexual addicts were sexually abused, assaulted, or molested in childhood. Frequently the feelings about these early trauma experiences have been covered over for many
years by the addiction. When sobriety is attained and recovery has become more of a reality, the issues of sexual abuse often move to the surface, creating a need for a deeper level of help and
support.
We saw in the Sandusky case that the difficulty faced by the boys he abused included shame and guilt. These were just a few of the problems contributing to “maintaining the secret”, turning the
experiences inward and resulting in years of silence.
Here at the STAR program, we recognize the pain and life difficulties caused by years of silence about childhood sexual abuse. We offer treatment to help you deal with these issues in a safe and supportive atmosphere. When appropriate, we offer help for your partner as well.
